Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in 1957 as the first self-financing engineering college in India. In 2000, the institute became one of the constitutent college of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Manipal Institute of Technology is affiliated with Karnataka University, Mysore University, Mangalore University and VTU. It is approved by AICTE and accredited with NAAC “A” grade. MIT Manipal has over 7,500 students and 500 faculty. Manipal Institute of Technology has been ranked “61” among the top engineering colleges in India by NIRF 2023.

The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and Ph.D. courses. B.Tech programs cover various specializations such as Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc.
